1995 Red Raider Baseball Team:

In November I sent you a postcard alerting you of the date of the 10-year reunion on the ’95 SWC championship team. We hope you cleared the weekend of April 22-24 on your calendar. This should be a fun weekend of activities surrounding the Tech-Kansas series.

We have five tee times reserved at the Rawls course Friday starting at 1:30 P.M. This is not necessarily a tournament but rather a chance to golf the new campus course, which was recently ranked the third-best campus course in the USA. If you want to golf, call the Rawls Course at (806) 742-4653 and tell them you want to reserve a spot in one of the “1995 baseball team” tee times. Throw together your own foursome or just jump in with a teammate somewhere. The cost will be $55 for range balls, cart and green fees and you will pay at the course. The baseball game that night is at 6:30 PM. I have a ticket order form for the games that weekend.

Saturday we will tour the new athletic facilities and have a pre-game tailgate. (I will give more details about the facilities tour the weekend of the reunion.) The game that day is set for 2 P.M. We will gather in the Thompson Hall parking lot at 11 A.M. and hang out in Segrist Grove (the grassy area north of the parking lot). Kids and guests are welcome. Your team will be honored prior to Saturday’s game so plan on being in the stadium by the 3rd base dugout no later than 1:30 P.M. Following the game Saturday, we will have a dinner in the Jones SBC Stadium Club at 7 P.M. Your guests are invited, and Coach Hays will be in attendance. This will be a casual event – no need to overdress. Sunday the reunion-specific events are done but you are welcome to attend the series finale.

A hotel block has been established for the reunion at the Four Points Sheraton (5th & Ave Q). The rate is $69 a night for singles or doubles. To reserve a room in this block call (806) 747-0171 and tell them you want to reserve a room in the “Tech baseball reunion” block. The block expires on April 1 so don’t wait long to make reservations.

Enclosed is a ticket order form for the baseball games, as well as a form for your dinner reservation. Please return these to us ASAP so we can put together a head count for the weekend’s events.

Feel free to contact me in the evenings at (806) 798-0034 or via e-mail at dta@ttu.edu if I can help with anything. If and when more information becomes available I will add it to the DTA Web site at www.doubletassociation.org. I encourage you to check that site out from time to time as I update it often with news of former letterwinners, upcoming events and copies of the newsletter.
